Kim became addicted to pain medication prescribed by her physician and that addiction eventually led her to heroin. “When I arrived at The Healing Place, my life was a catastrophe,” Kim says. “The decision to stay was the most important choice I’ve ever made. If my story can help even one other person recover from addiction, then it’s worth sharing. My family is no longer suffering and life is meaningful. Thankfully, this unique program is here for those of us who so desperately need it.”
Kim is now The Healing Place’s Family and Children’s Coordinator. She is giving back by sharing her expertise, as well as her experience, strength and hope. Kim is now helping to reunite families like she was once reunited with hers.
