The Healing Place has surpassed a milestone in the Men’s Campus Capital Campaign. $5.3 million has now been raised to expand the Men’s Campus on West Market Street, a project with a price tag of $24 million.
The heroin epidemic that is hitting Louisville and Kentucky means that demand has far outpaced the need, both in our detox facility and in our long-term residential recovery program. Beds are available on a first-come, first-served basis so we are having to turn away 10 to 30 men every day. Right now, we have just 24 beds in detox; the expansion will increase that to 50 beds. In the long-term recovery program, we will go from 240 beds to 426 beds. By expanding our Men’s Campus, we will start more men on the road to recovery.
We can’t do this without support from the community and we are grateful to those who have pledged their support so far.
On Tuesday, August 18, we topped the $5 million mark with a check and pledge from The Renau Foundation. Pictured are Doug Scott, Major Gifts Officer at The Healing Place, and Campaign Leadership Council member Larry Klein.
We are grateful to all of those who have committed to helping us expand the Men’s Campus to better serve the needs of our community so far.
An investment in The Healing Place is an investment in the Louisville community… and in the lives of the men who are searching for HOPE and a new way of life. If you would like to help us provide a solution to the growing addiction problem facing individuals, families, friends, and communities, you can donate online or contact Doug Scott by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone (502-618-1579).
