At The Healing Place, our mission is to reach individuals suffering from drug and alcohol addiction, provide the tools for recovery and restore meaningful productive lives. As we work diligently to carry out our mission at this time, the health and well-being of our clients, staff, and community is our top priority.
We want you to know that we are taking a proactive approach to prevention and management of COVID-19 at all our campuses.
The Healing Place services are still being offered at all levels of our program including detox and the overnight shelter with additional admission screenings.
We continue to closely monitor all directives and guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as state and local authorities in order to keep our community safe. The Healing Place has policies and procedures in place regarding the control of infectious diseases which continue to be reviewed and updated as needed by our Volunteer Medical Director.
Out of an abundance of caution and guidance from the government, we are asking our staff to increase their infection prevention efforts including hand washing, social distancing, and sanitizing work surfaces. We are implementing work from home strategies for staff where possible, however most staff are in direct client care positions. In addition, we are asking staff, board, and committee meetings to be done remotely.
We have put health screenings in place at all three of our campuses to ensure we are not contributing to the spread of COVID-19. Clients and staff are continuously being educated about and strongly encouraged to practice good hygiene.
In additional to these procedures, we are doing the following:
- Screening all new admissions per CDC guidelines for symptoms of COVID-19
- Restricting non-essential movement and visitation
- Disinfecting common areas of the buildings every hour
- Staff members who are symptomatic or categorized by the CDC as high risk are asked to take paid time off while they self-monitor at home. Staff who are sick are required to stay home until they are fever-free for 24 hours and are asymptomatic.
- Clients are being monitored daily for symptoms
- Utilizing social media and web-based platforms to provide access to 12-step meetings for clients
Information about the virus continues to change rapidly and we will continue to monitor new guidelines and procedures as new information becomes available. Our procedures are being reviewed daily and we are prepared to make adjustments as quickly as necessary.
If you have questions or concerns, or for more information about changes to schedules, program activities, or events, please reach out to your contact at The Healing Place, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 502-585-4848.
We are all in this together and we will continue to be here for those who need us during these challenging times. Thank you for continuing to think of the men and women of The Healing Place. We are grateful for your understanding and we hope you and your family stay safe and healthy.
