Getting Back to the Basics of Recovery Treatment

By: Heather Gibson, Vice President of Program Services

The Healing Place believes that recovery is possible for all individuals affected by addiction, whether that be the individual, their family, or the community. We also believe that everyone affected by addiction should have access to and be fully informed of the appropriate level of care with the proper intensity and duration followed by connection to a community using supportive recovery services with long term engagement. We believe that there are others out there who believe this as well.

We can no longer afford short sighted, single substance-based services that only band aid the problem. Our loved ones, colleagues, friends, and community deserve so much more. That is why The Healing Place has planned the first Reclaiming Recovery: Getting Back to the Basics conference, set for October 29th and 30th at the Louisville Marriott East. This conference is about focusing on proven, long-term solutions, ethically grounded research, advocacy, and implementation of effective policy in the future of addiction treatment.

The current addiction climate makes this a perfect opportunity to gather the experts in the recovery community to address the issue and focus on solutions. We hope you can be part of this effort to bring together leading professionals in the recovery treatment community to support, strengthen, advocate for and reclaim the long-term recovery model.
