Remembering Dr. Robert Couch

By: Karyn Hascal, President

Today, we are mourning the loss of Dr. Robert Couch. Dr. Couch was the Volunteer Administration Medical Director of The Healing Place and a member of the Board of Directors. He passed away November 19th due to complications from pneumonia. He was 62 years old.

He had been in the role of Administrative Medical Director for several years. In that position, he was instrumental in helping to shape some of our policies about treating our clients. Dr. Couch was the person who would always give you a thoughtful, well-considered answer to a question.

Dr. Couch was a very active member of the Board of Directors who was willing to step up and work at the Board level whenever asked. He was always available and helpful. Dr. Couch was beloved by all everyone who met him. I think his secret was his humility and respectfulness. He made everyone feel valued and respected.

His work at The Healing Place was just a small part of what he gave to the entire community through his work with other non-profits and his work as an emergency services physician.

Dr. Couch will be missed by all who knew him. We will keep his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.
